MEP Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking an MEP Specialist or Electrical Superintendent with strong computer skills and familiarity with Switchgears and UPS systems related to Data Centers. The role involves travel, following a 3-week on-site and 1-week remote schedule. The ideal candidate should have a Data Centers and the Electrical field.

Responsibilities

  • Change the IP address of your computer to communicate and program equipment.

  • Perform basic programming of Modbus, including setting IP, Subnet, and Gateway addresses, generating new passwords, setting baud rate and stop bits, and making basic parameter changes.

  • Log into power monitoring software to generate reports for required dates and times through data export. Upload collected data for review after generating the report.

  • Set up a laptop and connect to PQM (power quality meters) for recording data.

  • Install PQM meters on bus bars to record data during load tests, download saved data, and upload to the RX website for review.

  • Troubleshoot communication issues.

  • Record and submit copies of work and validation forms.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with Data Centers

  • Commissioning/testing of UPS/ATS Systems

  • Ability to travel 100%

  • Very strong computer skills

  • Experience in electrical construction

  • Project management skills

  • Troubleshooting skills

  • Commercial construction experience

  • Knowledge of Procore software

  • OSHA compliance

  • Mechanical and substation knowledge

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the field

  • Mechanical/electrical experience.

  • US Citizenship

  • Experience with switchgear, UPS systems, commissioning, generators, chillers, and CRAH units

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project for scheduling purposes

Work Environment

The role involves working on construction sites and extensive travel across various states including WA, AL, AZ, VA, TX, FL, and PA. The position will start at a Microsoft Data Center and follow a 3-week on-site and 1-week remote schedule. Benefits include a year+ contract with potential for permanent hire, travel and expense coverage (excluding per diem), 401k, 2 weeks PTO, dental/vision/medical insurance, $60 cell phone reimbursement, and 10 paid holidays.
