JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary: The Maintenance Assistant (MA) is responsible for a variety of custodial, janitorial, and landscaping duties in support of the Facilities Services department. The MA assists with preventative and routine maintenance on both the facility and the equipment. The MA performs general maintenance on resident apartment units and prepares apartments as they turn over. The MA is on call every third weekend to handle any emergency maintenance need of the facility. The MA provides assistance with snow removal. The MA uses his/her best skill in maintaining a facility that is provides a safe and inviting home to residents. The MA works with other department members to coordinate all in-house custodial, janitorial, and landscaping support services. Performs other related duties as needed. Position Reports to: Director of Facilities Services Qualifications: Graduate or high school/GED Valid WI driver\'s license and good driving record Ability in all areas of basic custodial duties and floor care Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems and operations Experience in basic carpentry and painting Ability to read and understand written instructions in service and maintenance manuals Capable of operating and maintaining basic custodial, landscaping, and snow removal equipment Interest and ability to support geriatric residents Ability to analyze an issue, identify options, and implement solutions Ability to work cooperatively with people in and outside of Facilities Service department Assists with activities and interacting with the residents Equipment Used: Office equipment: phone systems, fax machine, photocopier Facilities Services Equipment:...
