STAFFING SUPPORT SPECIALISTS Maintenance Mechanic in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of machinery and equipment in a fabrication and foundry environment. This role involves inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring completion of customer orders in a timely manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain machinery like lathes, CNC machines, welding units, shears, and presses. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues. Maintain conveyors and pouring systems. Service air filtration and ventilation systems to manage hazardous dust and fumes. Ensure proper operation of exhaust fans and dust collectors. Maintain pneumatic tools. Conduct regular checks on safety systems like heat shields, temperature sensors, and cooling systems. Maintain forklifts, hoists, and conveyors used for transporting raw materials and finished products. Replace worn-out parts such as bearings, belts, or motors. Respond quickly to equipment malfunctions to minimize production downtime. Optimize machine settings for better output and efficiency. Ensure machines meet safety standards and that guards, locks, and emergency systems function correctly. Communicate with department supervisors and leads regarding the status of work orders. QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding mechanical components like gears, belts, bearings, and shafts. Familiarity with troubleshooting and repair of equipment such as CNC machines, cranes, induction furnaces, hydraulic presses, and pneumatic tools. Experience troubleshooting and fixing welding equipment. Knowledge of basic electrical wiring, circuit diagrams, and hydraulic schematics. Awareness of OSHA regulations for workplace safety. Hazard awareness in high-temperature environments (for foundries) and moving machinery (in fabrication shops). Knowledge of principles of equipment inspection, lubrication, and wear detection. Ability to fabricate or modify parts using cutting, welding, and machining techniques. Skill in aligning, calibrating, and testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
