The Grant Accounting Manager oversees the accounting, administration, and reporting requirements of all externally funded grants in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP ), Uniform Guidance, and Marquette University Business Policies and Procedures. The Grant Accounting Manager regularly interacts and works jointly with Office or Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP ) and Primary Investigator (PI) to ensure timely and accurate reporting of grant financial activities. This role also serves as a university expert on federal state and private grant accounting compliance, as well as providing leadership and guidance to the grant accounting team. This role can be worked partially from home as hybrid-remote. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Audit and report responsibilities Manage the annual OMB and State Single audit, as well as all other grant program audits. This includes meeting, scheduling, coordinating with all departments, and the preparation of all necessary workpaper for these audits. Prepare and enter the Data Collection form of the OMB audit in the Federal Clearinghouse site for submission. Notify passed through entities of the completion of Marquette University\'s OMB audit. Review subrecipients\' audit report and send management decision letter. Prepare and submit the annual E-Z audit report to the Department of Education. 2. Supervise and/or approve grant account expenditures Responsible for transactions from Manual Payment Request Form, IEXPENSE , PCARD , internal billings and expense transfers to ensure charges are properly documented, approved by an authorized signer, incurred within the grant period, and ensure fiscal integrity and compliance with Uniform Guidance, other OMB circulars, state Grant Terms and Conditions, and Marquette University Business Policies and Procedures. Prepare and review interim and final financial reports to funding agencies. Review requests for new grant accounts to determine whether the funds are a grant or a gift. If an award is deemed a grant, work with ORSP to establish a new account number for the award. 3.
