Job Overview

TheEngineer IVwill lead and participate in engineering projects to develop, maintain, and support components, products, and services in line with market demands and continuous process improvements. They will conduct engineering evaluations, including investigations, calculations, and tests, while providing strategic solutions to complex engineering challenges.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement programs to effectively communicate engineering issues, ensuring compliance with global design and safety standards as well as engineering best practices.

  • Streamline engineering processes for the design, development, maintenance, and support of components, products, and services.

  • Apply effective Change Management strategies to drive successful outcomes by influencing individual and organizational behavior.

  • Design and detail weldments, structures, assemblies, and machinery systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design principles and manufacturing processes.

  • Utilize CAD and PDM software to create and manage component and assembly designs.

  • Participate in resolving engineering issues in both manufacturing and field environments, providing expert guidance and support.

  • Conduct necessary calculations to support engineering investigations and new product development (NPD).

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Parts, Product Support, and R&D, to ensure seamless integration and execution of projects.

  • Review and verify the quality, form, fit, and function of designs, ensuring that they meet performance, cost objectives, and marketing schedules.

  • Develop and recommend solutions to complex design challenges, managing and mitigating risks to acceptable levels.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing leaders to optimize design solutions at the best possible total cost.

  • Ensure the correct interpretation and application of product scope, particularly in the context of Mining Equipment.

  • Actively engage in opportunities for professional growth, with support from the organization to help you achieve career goals.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline.

  • Proven experience in engineering design, machine application, and/or the mining industry.

  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) tools and a working knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) software.

  • Experience in applying Lean Engineering principles and Change Management strategies.

  • Cross-functional leadership experience with a track record of successful project execution.

  • Familiarity with design principles, manufacturing processes, and the ability to conduct relevant engineering calculations.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to develop and recommend solutions to complex engineering problems.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments to achieve project goals.

  • Professional registration and/or active participation in technical committees or societies is beneficial.

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel may be required based on project needs (approximately 3-4 trips per year).
