Brady Corporation Electrical Engineer Intern in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

What We Need:

Brady Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer intern to support the design, development, documentation, and testing of new and existing products. Key responsibilities include contributing to product design, manufacturing, and support. The intern will apply engineering principles to complex issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, engineering, etc.), and ensure cost-effective designs that meet project timelines and budgets. Successful candidates will proactively collaborate with team members and colleagues across the company.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supports system development from concept to production

  • Maintain all the relevant hardware design documents, schematic design drawings, layout diagrams, Gerber files, verification documents and reports, on a timely basis meeting the project timeline

  • Proactively assess the technical risks and resolve the design issues by providing reliable solutions

  • Participate in ensuring Electrical regulatory compliance and thermal dissipation requirements are fully met with proven design solutions and design practices

  • Maintain effective communication with customers as well as internal functional groups (local and overseas) in order to track and report the project status

  • Manage all development projects in accordance with internal Brady design processes and tools

  • Develop products that meet specifications either individually or as a part of a team

  • Identifies the problem and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures, and makes sound decisions

    What You Will Need To Be Successful:

  • Pursuing a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • Interest in gaining experience in embedded mixed-signal hardware design, including multi-layer PCBs with ARM Microprocessors, DDR4 Memories, NAND, Motor Drivers, USB/Ethernet controllers, DACs, ADCs, LVDS Controllers, WIFI/BLE, and FPGA/CPLDs, as well as schematic capture and layout in Altium Designer

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

  • Effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to multitask

  • Able to work independently under pressure, with all levels of the organization

  • Detail-oriented and highly adaptable in a fast-paced, changing environment
