This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work during our normal business hours of 8:30am - 4:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training (the first 2 weeks of training are onsite). The hours during training will be 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday.
If you are located in MN or WI, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information
Processes release of information (ROI) requests
Manages requests for documentation and information
Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record
Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems
May train and mentor co-workers
Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements
Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability
Work with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management)
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
Must be 18 years of age OR older
1+ years of Customer Service experience within a hospital OR healthcare environment
Experience with Microsoft Office products
Ability to travel to 2925 Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55407 for the first 2 weeks of training
Ability to work Monday - Friday, during our normal business hours of 8:30am - 4:00pm CST, including the flexibility to work occasional overtime, based on the business need
Preferred Qualifications:
RHIT or RHIA certification
2+ years of customer service experience
Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
Experience working in a call center
Previous experience communicating with patients & staff with various educational & socio-economic backgrounds
Clerical or administrative support background
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of federal and state programs that will benefit coverage for clients
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
Telecommuting Requirements:
Reside within MN or WI, and within a commutable distance to the office at 2925 Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55407
Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
