Join us our Project Execution Engineer - Automation

This position is primarily responsible for technical planning, troubleshooting, commissioning and design verification of automation and instrumentation scope in CapEx projects. This position will work within a Global Engineering organization of approximately 80 people locally and in Denmark, United Sates, Brazil, France and Germany, supporting both local and global business initiatives. The primary focus of the role is in the Americas region with emphasis on fermentation plants in Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

  • Serving as an electrical and automation resource for CapEx projects, in areas such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Servo Drives, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Human Machine Interface (HMIs), electrical standards, and controls system troubleshooting.

  • Leading and aligning automation solutions with Chr. Hansen standards as a technical expert.

  • Ensuring and maintaining engineering-related documentation in CapEx projects for electrical installations, control panel drawings, wiring diagrams, and commissioning protocols.

  • Verifying as-built conditions in the field and monitoring construction progress to proactively ensure quality of wiring and controls installation in CapEx projects.

  • Coordinating with involved suppliers or sub-contractors to ensure interfaces are accurately addressed.

  • Contributing to existing plant support at 5-10% of resource load with troubleshooting and technical assistance on an as-needed basis.

  • Staying current with new industry developments in engineering techniques, machines, equipment, materials, etc., and incorporating innovations in the engineering function to the best advantage of the company.

  • Collaborating with other Global Engineering colleagues to develop engineering company standards.

  • Following all company safety and sanitation regulations and providing engineering recommendations to assist area managers in reducing or eliminating employee exposure to injuries or illnesses.

To succeed you must hold:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics or Computer/Software Engineering or related field and 3+ years of experience. Preferable to have experience with OEM or Controls Integration company.

  • Experience in electrical and controls system maintenance & troubleshooting, specifically with PLCs, Robots, VFDs, Servos and HMI’s. Ability to work with integrator to improve systems or resolve issues.

  • Good technical and mechanical knowledge, and possess excellent interpersonal, communication, self-leadership skills, and innovative.

  • Experience with cross disciplinary projects (mechanical, process, automation, building)

  • Experience within a Food or Processing industry is preferred.

  • A working knowledge of the ISA-88 and preferable ISA-95 automation standards.

  • Experience with RSLinx, RSLogix 500/ Studio 5000 Software, and SCADA Software (AVEVA/Factory Talk View).

  • Working knowledge of Ethernet IP components and networking.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%.Willingness to support international projects is a plus.
