Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

The Lab Technician is responsible for testing incoming goods, in-process goods, and final products of specialty ingredients. You will work closely with production and maintain detailed documentation. The Lab Technician will troubleshoot equipment in the lab and operate titrators, GCs, LCs, pH meters, and atomic absorption machines. Additionally, you will perform basic laboratory test analyses, manage lab supplies, and maintain laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic laboratory tests and analyses.

• Manage inventory and prepare lab supplies.

• Verify, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.

• Evaluate test methods.

• Perform quality control tests on raw materials, in-process, and finished product samples, as well as wastewater samples per SOPs and sample testing plans.

• Complete associated documentation.

• Perform verification, calibration, and preventive maintenance according to ISO schedules.

• Assist and participate in the EHSQ Management System (e.g., nonconformance, TVP, audits, inventory).

Essential Skills

• Experience with HPLC, lab testing, QC, and GC.

• Familiarity with IR and quality control practices.

• Knowledge of chemistry and laboratory procedures.

• Understanding of GMP and ISO 9001 standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of laboratory experience within GMP, ISO 9001, or RC.

• Life Sciences Degree with no experience.

Work Environment

The training program will last two to three months. The first month will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the schedule for the subsequent months may follow the same hours depending on staffing levels. After training, you will likely move to a night shift role (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) with a rotating schedule: Week 1 (Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat) and Week 2 (Wed, Thurs). You will work in the lab with provided PPE, including a lab coat, safety goggles, steel-toed shoes, and high-visibility clothing. The QC team consists of 5 members, and during the night shift, you will work as the solo QC person with 7 operators.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00
