Job Title: Assistant Shop Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Shop Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supervising body repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, managing shop employees, and ensuring the highest quality of work. This role involves hiring and training staff, inspecting work quality, managing scheduling, setting goals and objectives, maintaining repair order flow, and collaborating with various departments for optimal shop efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Hire and train shop employees.

• Inspect quality of work and monitor all employees within the shop.

• Manage and schedule employees for optimal efficiency.

• Set goals and objectives for the team.

• Maintain accurate repair order flow.

• Input data into computerized workflow tracking systems.

• Collaborate with finance and accounts receivable representatives for invoicing.

• Work with purchasing and materials department on vendor purchasing.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience supervising body repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

• Experience in an automotive/truck environment at any capacity.

• Knowledge of vehicle/equipment preventative maintenance and refurbishment.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC systems, and inspections.

• Mechanical skills including schematics, hydraulics, repair, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics.

• Experience with engine repair, pneumatics, diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, and suspension.

• Computer proficiency.

Work Environment

Our facility is well-lit and spans 100,000 sq. ft., usually full of buses with alleyways for movement and work. The loading doors are often open, providing ample airflow, making it hotter in the summer. We operate on a straight day shift schedule with normal hours from Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM . During the summer (May 21 - October 11), the hours are Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and Friday, 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00
