Job Summary

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for the global movements of our stock. They will organise shipments from our factories to our clients, offering our clients a range of shipment methods and costs. They will manage the relationships with our logistics partners to ensure we are offering the most competitive pricing available, with the best service. They will be comfortable with spreadsheets as they use Microsoft Excel to analyse data, forecast, and plan product orders.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Managing shipments – own the international shipment process from creating quotations, ensuring they are accurate, offering the client team a range of options of cost and speed, then coordinating the shipments to ensure they are completed on time. Troubleshoot any issues as they arise, and present recommended resolutions accordingly.

  • Supplier management – build strong relationships with all logistics partners. Organise regular meetings to measure their service levels and discuss improvements. Keep abreast of the global logistics market. Conduct supplier benchmarking if required.

  • Client deliveries – oversee domestic deliveries of client goods, and work with logistics partners to ensure they are delivered within the agreed SLA. Troubleshoot issues as required, and present options for solutions. For 2025 only, create stock allocations for one client, to offer them the most commercial stock package possible.

  • Reporting – create stock reports for clients as required. Update shipment trackers for both internal and external use, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of any changes/delays, and all possible steps have been taken to mitigate these.

  • Budgeting – ensure all logistics quotations are as accurate as possible. Reconcile actualized costs against planned, and highlight any variances. Put steps in place to ensure continuing accuracy of logistics budgeting.

    Qualifications & Skills

  • Microsoft Office – Excel in particular, and Outlook

  • Highly organised

  • Analytical, methodical and data-driven

    Experience

  • Global logistics experience essential

  • Domestic logistics experience essential

  • A minimum 2 years experience of a stock management role

  • Supplier management experience preferred
