• Requires a High School Diploma, or equivalent (GED).

• Provides indirect care of patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with Santa Rosa Medical Center Telemetry Policy.

• Position reports to the Department Director/Manager.

• Makes note of irregular rhythms and monitors changes in heartbeat.

• Ensures that monitors are functioning properly.

• Entersall datainto central monitoring system.

• Documents/mountsall telemetry strips every 4 hours during each shift into patient charts.

• Provides notification to primary nurse(s) of cardiac rhythm changes and patient response to therapy by documenting cardiac rhythm strips on all Telemetry patients.

• Monitors and orders forms and supplies to ensure adequate stock.

• Critical thinking skills are essential to the performance of the responsibilities associated with this position.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
