Homeland Vinyl Products Packer in Millville, New Jersey
The role of a Packer is to ensure that both the product being packed along with the bundle itself, will meet the specification standards expected by Homeland Vinyl customers. Packers will provide support and training to new packers. Maintain a safe work area.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS: Good communication skills. Attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Ability to perform basic math calculations. Ability to read/use measuring devices such as tape measures. Ability to maintain a safe, clean working environment. Maintain required written production reports. Ability to identify all common defects associated with product production (burn, color, bow, wave, vacuum, impact, contamination, scratch lines, streaks, sink and gloss). Perform all required inspections. Ability to operate various equipment, such as a sawzall, chop saw, pressurized air tools, hand strappers, wood saw, razor knife, etc. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand and/or walk for 8 to 12 hour shifts, as schedule demands. Ability to lift up to 15 lbs., with repetition, and on occasion up to 40 lbs. Ability to move parts from one location to another, as needed. Ability to work 12 hours per day and 42 hours per week, as scheduled. Ability to perform packing/banding.
SHIFT: 42 hours per week; 12 hour shifts, either 7am-7pm ($16) or 7pm-7am ($18). Days alternate every other week: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (1/2) Saturday (1/2), Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (employees only work about 15 days per month yet receive full time checks)
