Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in the higher education sector-based Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States. The Controller will be instrumental in managing accounting records, ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing financial statements, and overseeing audits. This role also entails risk evaluation and management, as well as the development and execution of financial and operational strategies.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
• Develop, monitor, and execute fiscal planning
• Prepare and regularly present financial reports and statements
• Engage with the finance committee of the Board of Directors to devise short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections
• Monitor the progression of financial and operational strategies
• Oversee all audit activities and maintain internal control safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, program budgets, and actual expenditures
• Represent the institution to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, auditors, public officials, among others
• Ensure the proper use of accounting software, databases, and financial analysis systems for effective financial management
• Lead and guide employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being utilized.
Requirements
Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
5 years accounting experience
2 years management experience
Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
Grant Experience
Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
Proficiency in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)
Experience in Auditing
Familiarity with Budget Processes
Proficiency in SAP
