Croda, Inc Shift Team Leader in MILL HALL, Pennsylvania

Overall Description: Responsible for safely leading and guiding a crew to ensure quality & quantity of finished product, field operations, including but not limited to the receiving & charging of raw materials, operation of systems, & extraction & packaging of finished products.  Utilizing SAP to control inventory and other electronic systems as needed.  All work done with compliance to SHE guidelines, government regulations, cGMP, manufacturing packets & process procedures, and at the direction of controlling supervisors.

Key Duties: Maintain Safe & Healthy Work Environment Understand & follow established procedures to operate safely, in an environmentally sound manner, and according to cGMP including during emergencies, startup & shut down, & OSHA related issues. Operate electronic systems regularly and effectively (e.g. Intelex procedures, MOCs, and incidents; entering JHAs; email) Recognize hazards & take appropriate actions Knowledge of personal protective equipment and its use Act as required regarding regulatory requirements Be an active participant in the Croda Emergency Response Team with some training as an Incident Commander Hold other employees accountable for unsafe actions and escalate issues as necessary

Daily Production Operations Coordination - 50% Ensure that employees perform their jobs in a safe and efficient manner, according to company policy, protocol, and procedure. Coordinate daily production activities throughout the plant to achieve production goals. Ensure effective use of resources including personnel, materials, and equipment by identifying and reporting deficiencies. Investigate and troubleshoot production issues relating to process performance, product quality, and equipment performance. Conduct investigations, provide status reports, and perform record keeping duties as required. Lead crew during Area Manager absence.

Long Term Operations Improvement - 20% Coach and mentor members of shift team for improved performance. Answer questions and find answers to questions about manufacturing processes and procedures, safety concerns, equipment capabilities, and personnel issues. Provide process knowledge in the development, coordination, and execution of production projects. Provide support as directed to achieve goals of the Site Operating Strategy. Evaluate and learn new equipment. Improve existing equipment and procedures

Field Operations -- 30 % Guide and assist operations with daily tasks as needed to maintain product flow. Operate equipment as needed based on demand.

Experience required: Minimum 5 plus years experience in chemical plant operations preferred.

Education / specialized training required: High School graduate. Intermediate computer skills (spreadsheets, SAP) Math computational skills plus fractions. Understanding of reaction chemistry, ability to comprehend technical information. Must have written and oral proficiency in the English language.  Basic electrical and instrument understanding as well as mechanical troubleshooting abilities.

Physical requirements: Able to walk, stand & sit for a minimum of 12 hours per day. Able to lift 50 pounds, 100 pounds with help. Ability to wear respirator.
