Milford Regional Medical Center RN - Radiation Oncology in Milford, Massachusetts

Statement of Purpose:

The Registered Nurse's responsibilities in Radiation Oncology include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for a complex patient population. The Registered Nurse provides patient and family education and psychosocial and emotional support. He/she is a member of a multidisciplinary care team that requires effective communication and collaboration with coworkers and Registered Nurses at MRMC, the Cancer Center, DFCI, BWH, and other collaborating institutions and agencies. The Registered Nurse identifies his/her own professional goals and learning needs. The role requires clinical expertise, critical thinking, collaborative practice, excellent communication skills and an understanding of the principles and practices of clinical research. The Mission, Vision and Core values of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, B&W, and MRMC are incorporated into all areas of practice.

Qualifications:

Education: BSN preferred. Graduate of NLN or CCE accredited school of nursing.

Certification / License: .Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Certification in Oncology Nursing, OCN, AOCN, or CPON preferred, current CPR skills . Experience:Minimum of two years recent experience as an RN in radiation oncology preferred, oncology specialty preferred. Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and ability to make independent decisions. Ability to function in a busy work setting with patients with complex needs.

MRMC Differentials:

Hospital differentials are: $3.50 hourly for evenings, $4.75 hourly for nights, and $2.75 hourly for weekends. All differentials are paid based per hospital policy.
