Aerotek Mixer Operator/ Forklift in Milford, Massachusetts

Job Title: Mixer Operator/Forklift

Job Description

We have two openings available for a Mixer Operator/Forklift position. One opening is for the 1st shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and the other is for the 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, which includes a shift differential.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the incoming quality of containers and ensure an adequate supply for uninterrupted filling line operation.

  • Calibrate and properly operate automatic filling machines, ensuring correct product, weights, and quality appearance of containers.

  • Ensure the lid dropper is supplied with an adequate amount of lids and that lids are properly sealed and labeled.

  • Monitor the label machine for adequate quantity, correct labels, adhesive, and quality appearance of labels and containers.

  • Maintain proper operation and make minor adjustments to the bail-o-matic machine.

  • Ensure an adequate supply of cartons and tape for the case packer and verify correct carton information.

  • Supply empty pallets to the palletizer and offload full pallets as needed.

  • Accurately count filled containers and input data into the terminal for inventory control using electronic information systems.

  • Maintain forklift and related equipment by checking the battery, electrical hook-up, etc.

  • Follow all safety guidelines, environmental and regulatory guidelines, and use all required safety equipment.

  • Maintain the quality and cleanliness of the work area and equipment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • High School degree or equivalent required.

  • Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and cross-functionally.

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and cleanliness.

  • Ability to use company software and computer system programs.

  • Good interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work safely and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Ability to work overtime (up to 4 hours past the regularly scheduled shift) and weekends when required.

  • Ability to operate various machines, including fill by weight machine, video jet, labeler, palletizer, case packer, can and carton computer, and depalletizer.

  • Ability to operate the tower, gallon line, quart line, gallon line casepacker, five line, and small batch independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • GED or High School Diploma (required for conversion to permanent position).

  • Ability to use a forklift, winch, and trolley system.

  • Experience running the filling line and packaging goods for up to 8 hours per day.

Work Environment

This position is in a manufacturing environment that can be messy with paint. The facility is 10,000 square feet and has 40 employees on the floor. The role involves operating large paint filling lines and requires adherence to safety and cleanliness standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milford, Massachusetts.
