About you and this role:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Toxicology Study Monitor to join our External Testing Monitoring Team within the Toxicology Environmental Research and Consulting (TERC) organization located in Midland, Michigan. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing toxicology studies with a specific focus on human health assessment. This position requires a strong background in toxicology, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of scientific integrity and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Design, conduct, and monitor toxicology studies.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
Analyze and interpret data from toxicology studies, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
Ensure all testing procedures adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and other relevant standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the testing process to minimize delays and ensure accurate results.
Stay updated on the latest research and developments in the field of microplastics and toxicology.
Required qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in toxicology, environmental health, chemistry or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant study director experience.
Extensive experience in toxicology studies, particularly those involving human health.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship is available for this position including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred qualifications:
Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Toxicology, Environmental Health, Chemistry, or a related field.
Familiarity with Dow Chemical's products and processes.
Proven track record of successful project management and collaboration with external testing laboratories.
Skills, knowledge, and abilities:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in designing and conducting toxicology studies, data analysis, and interpretation. Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures.
Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), regulatory standards (i.e., EU REACH & CLP, USEPA TSCA, Canadian DSL, and recent China and Korea programs) and guidelines related to toxicology and environmental health.
Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex data and provide actionable insights. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey findings and collaborate with stakeholders.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, external laboratories, and regulatory bodies.
Adaptability: Ability to stay updated on the latest research and developments in the field and adapt to new methodologies and technologies.
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results and reports.
