Responsibilities:

• Order procurement of tools, equipment, and materials to be delivered at specified times to meet work schedules

• Direct the activities and performance of the crew and subcontractors

• Provide leadership and supervision to the Asphalt Crew

• Inspect work in progress to ensure quality meets specifications

• Review work in progress and adjust schedules accordingly

• Track quantities and production

• Deal with clients in a professional and productive manner

• Be flexible with work assignments and resources such as equipment, labour, and materials

• Conduct safety talks with staff to review policies and practices

• Ensure safety practices are followed by the crew

• Review completed work; ensure appropriate documentation is completed

Qualifications:

• Mechanical knowledge or previous experience as foreman, an asset

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in asphalt operations

• Knowledge of all paving equipment, paving process, and industry requirements

• Superb leadership and experience in the supervision of staff

• Must have a valid G driver’s license with driver’s abstract meeting Miller’s expectations

• Ability to effectively use MS Office including but not limited to MS Teams and Outlook; ability to learn and utilize computer software

• Ability to operate in a fast paced and demanding environment in a safe and effective manner

• Effective communication skills, and ability to work well in a team

• High attention to detail and the ability to think critically

• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as required

• Travel is required
