On-Call Direct Care Worker
Job Description: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated On-Call Direct Care Workers to provide personalized assistance and support to individuals in need. As an integral member of our care team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of our clients by delivering high-quality care and fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to clients in their homes, adhering to their individual care plans and needs.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including but not limited to personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping and mobility assistance.
- Foster meaningful relationships with clients, promoting social interaction and emotional well-being.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of care provided, reporting any changes or concerns to the client care coordinator or senior care manager.
{=html} <!-- --> - Ensure a clean and organized living space for clients, addressing household tasks as necessary. - Collaborate with On-Call Scheduler, Homecare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care and a holistic approach. - Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the well-being of both clients and yourself. - Service any and all clients in the event of call outs to cover our geographical region between 4:30pm on Friday evenings and 11:59pm on Sunday evenings
**Must answer All calls from on-call scheduler and cover the required shifts with No issues. (failure to answer the calls from the on-call scheduler or return the call promptly will result in forfeiture of your on-call weekend direct care worker pay incentive and removal from the on-call direct care worker position)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in homecare or caregiving is a plus.
- Proven experience in providing direct care to individuals, preferably in a home or community setting.
- Empathetic and patient nature, with a genuine passion for helping others.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to adapt to various situations, prioritize tasks, and respond calmly in emergency situations.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping purposes.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver\'s license and proof of current vehicle insurance if transporting clients.
- Must have up-to-date physical, TB test, background check and drug test.
- We offer competitive compensation (flat weekend rate plus weekend shift hourly differential, ongoing training, and support).
Incentives:
*Flat weekend rate (\$150) regardless if have to report for on call duty or not
*\$2 extra weekend shift differential pay
*Mileage reimbursement after the first 20 miles traveled
