What You Will Do:

We have a rare opportunity for a talented Quality Technical Manager for our Compression System Module Center (CSMC). CSMC manufactures Compressor and Turbine Rotors, Drums, Disks, Hubs, Hollow Fan blades and Fan Cases, for multiple commercial and military engine programs. CSMC is the Center of Excellence for the manufacturing and inspection of Integrated Blade Rotors (IBR) for the F119, F135 and Next Generation Product Family (NGPF). We are looking for a motivated, high energy Quality Manager to provide leadership to a team of salary Quality personnel. This position reports to the CSMC Quality Director and is responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Quality Engineers supporting CSMC product families, bench inspection, gage standards and NDT processes.

  • Support day to day Module Center deliverables and initiatives.

  • Foster and maintain a cooperative relationship with all CSMC Production groups.

  • Establish and execute initiatives which ensure Module Center quality metrics are met.

  • Work with CSMC Manufacturing and Operations teams and CIPTs to improve product quality.

  • Drive inspection process improvements and promote a culture of continuous improvement through the use of CORE tools (Standard Work, DIVEs, mistake proofing, PFMEA, etc).

  • Lead lean transformation initiatives which support the Module Center’s Lean Transformation plan.

  • Attract, develop and mentor diverse talent for Quality Cell Leaders and Quality Engineers.

  • Hire and support training of hourly inspection personnel.

  • Drive key part family MRL progression

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Proven Project Management experience in a fast-paced, high stress manufacturing environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field required (e.g., Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations).

  • 10+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Operations and/or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years in the aerospace industry.

  • Strong familiarity with the 8D investigation process, DAMIC, Root Cause Corrective Actions, 5-Why, and Fault Tree will be required.

  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft office applications.

  • Strong Knowledge of non-conforming material management processes.

  • US citizenship required due to government contracts.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s degree in technical field required (e.g., Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations).

  • 12+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Operations and/or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years in the aerospace industry.

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence.

  • PMI Project Management Professional.

  • CORE Champion and JCL 2.

  • Certification in Red-X / 6 Sigma / similar data driven problem solving approach preferred.

  • Working proficiency in SAP is preferred.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
