We are seeking a Special Projects Technician to join our team in Madison, WI . In this role you will assist with many unique projects including multi-dwelling unit (MDU) service calls, cable, internet and security product installs, maintenance and upkeep of our warehouse, as well as other duties and projects as needed.

The Role

  • Maintain warehouse, ensuring it remains cleaned and organized

  • Track and maintain inventory for all equipment & parts, keeping items locked and organized

  • Place orders and manage intake of deliveries, stocking shelves

  • Issue/return equipment to technicians on a daily and weekly basis

  • Complete a daily reconciliation of technician equipment levels

  • Participate in company vehicle management: clean and detail vehicles, deliver vehicles requiring repair to the repair shop

  • Assign uniforms, tools, and safety gear to all technicians; ensuring invoices are signed

  • Perform installations and changes of service

  • Complete all tasks adhering to applicable codes, requirements, guidelines, company procedures and safe work practices

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues and customer concerns

  • Ensure products and services are working properly to drive a positive customer experience

  • Prioritize, organize and efficiently complete tasks to meet deadlines

  • Work independently

  • Work in a variety of environments; indoors, outdoors, tight spaces, elevated

  • Navigate a variety of terrains managing tools and equipment

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Warehouse experience preferred

  • General construction experience preferred

  • Excellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to learn and operate testing equipment and software/programs

  • Ability to utilize hand tools, identify wire size/color and accurately utilize measuring devices

  • Ability to carry, climb, operate, and work upon an extension ladder (approximately 28 feet high and 75 pounds)

  • Ability to complete work indoors, outdoors, in tight spaces and elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and working while standing up to 70% of the time

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs

  • Ability to safely navigate various terrains, managing equipment and tools

  • A body weight of no more than 275 pounds to perform ladder work safely. Safety is our #1 Priority. If personal safety is not compromised, an accommodation may be available based on previous ladder experience in a similar role.

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
