JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated Economist/Aviation Forecaster to work with our Aviation group. This position can be fully remote or hybrid, if based near an office. This is an exciting opportunity will be serving our teams and clients on a national level. We encourage all qualified candidates across the US to apply! This role will require travel, up to 30% domestic travel to client sites (1-2 day trips) and to technical conferences 1-2 times per year. Responsibilities include leading teams of planners and analysts preparing aviation activity forecasts, aviation economics analysis, financial analysis, and other related work product. Below are detailed duties as they relate to each scope of practice within this position. Aviation Activity Forecasts Modeling airport demand for commercial service airports of all market sizes Preparing activity forecasts in line with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidance and expectations Reviewing forecasts prepared by others Preparing general aviation forecasts of activity Preparing air cargo tonnage forecasts Preparing aircraft operations (air traffic movements) for all market segments Preparing future design day flight schedules Providing guidance to junior forecasters and planners Aviation Economics & Analysis Reviewing macroeconomic trends and policies, and conveying their impacts on the US aviation industry to colleagues Modeling economic impact of airports and airport systems Preparing airline schedule analysis, including capacity analysis Preparing economic impact of airline routes and airline service Preparing engineering economics analysis Providing guidance to junior forecasters and planners Developing spreadsheet models for economic and financial analysis Other Economics & Analysis Collaborates with multidisciplinary project groups to address economic resource assessment and analysis needs. Analyzes and interprets economic and socioeconomic information requests Develops economic study approaches, methodologies, and scopes. Conducts or directs the conduct of a wide range of economic analyses such as life-cycle cost studies, benefit-cost analyses, feasibility studies, due diligence reviews, valuations, etc. tailored to project-specific needs. The development and execution of approaches for such studies may require considerable creativity and research. Serves as resource person to explain technical economic information and analysis purposes and approaches.
