Middleport Tractor Supply is seeking a Lawn Equipment Mechanic for our location on Telegraph Road.
As a Lawn Equipment Mechanic you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Lawn tractors and other Small Equipment, performing tasks like engine repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and routine maintenance checks to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Key responsibilities: * Diagnostics: Identify malfunctions in Lawn Equipment by examining, listening to equipment, reading inspection reports, and consulting with customers to pinpoint problems. * Repairs: Disassemble defective parts, replace worn components, and reassemble machinery using hand tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery. * Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, fluid level checks, and cleaning of parts. * Electrical Systems: Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, sensors, and starting systems.
Required skills and qualifications: * Mechanical aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical principles * Diagnostic skills: Ability to diagnose malfunctions by analyzing symptoms and interpreting test results * Hand tools proficiency: Expertise in using various hand tools like wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, and pliers * Welding and fabrication skills: Ability to fabricate or repair metal parts as needed would be a plus * Physical stamina: Capable of lifting heavy components and working in various weather conditions * Problem-solving abilities: Ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective repair solutions
Specific Knowledge of Briggs & Stratton, Kawasaki, and Kohler engines a plus.
