JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
This individual will serve as a member of the 4-H team planning and conducting the 4-H STEM program for county youth.
Time Requirements: Approximately 15 to 20 hours/week. The individual must be available for evening and weekend events to fulfill the position’s responsibilities.
Position Responsibilities:
Plan, implement and evaluate age-appropriate 4-H STEM programs and activities with youth at identified locations within Snyder, Union and Northumberland counties.
Monitor children and be responsible for the whereabouts, supervision, and safety of all children registered for the program.
Provide communication to youth and parents about upcoming programs and opportunities.
Write news releases, social media posts and assist with general marketing to increase public awareness and participation.
Assist with survey data entry as needed.
Work cooperatively with other staff in planning and conducting programs, activities, and other special events.
Assist the Educator in reaching new audiences in accordance with Penn State University Affirmative Action Policy.
Establish and maintain files.
Basic Skills Required:
Possess good communication skills needed for individual communication with youth, parents, and other educators.
Possess organizational and record-keeping skills.
Possess computer skills for creating documents and marketing pieces.
This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
Successful applicants will not be able to start work until they have received background clearances as per Penn State hiring policies.
