Johns Hopkins University Business Project Coordinator - Rev Cycle in Middle River, Maryland

The Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care Medicine is seeking a Business Project Coordinator - Rev. Cycle that will support the management team by providing administrative and supervisory support to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day processing of revenue cycle functions within the production unit and serve as a lead for troubleshooting and problem solving. Will be expected to exercise independent judgment, maintain confidentiality and compliance with department policies. A successful candidate will be pivotal in assisting the department in accomplishing the goals, and initiatives in the department.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the day-to-day processing of assigned work queues as identified by the Production Unit Manager.

  • Assists the Production Unit Manager in identifying trends in revenue cycle.

  • Assist in training staff

  • Provides feedback regarding problems to management and assists in problem resolution.

  • Generates and reports to Production Unit Manager weekly and monthly productivity reports as assigned.

  • Serves as back-up for Production Unit Manager absence to report work queue status.

  • Participates in meetings and conference calls, acting as designated department delegate as directed by the Production Unit Manager.

  • Identifies and resolves key issues and takes appropriate actions responding to complex patient and medical insurance inquiries.

  • Continue the tasks and responsibilities of a revenue cycle specialist (i.e., working accounts receivable)

  • In collaboration with the Production Unit Manager, will maintain Revenue Cycle Resource folder to ensure resources are up-to-date and current for staff to access.

  • Under direction of Production Unit Manager will perform internal audits of the Revenue Cycles staff as well as assign and perform Incentive Audits.

  • Responsible for answering questions, providing guidance, and disseminating information regarding A/R concerns as necessary.

  • Work with Production Unit Manger to identify needs, coordinate processes and oversee projects to completions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Three years related experience with some project management experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

  • Previous experience in working modifier application and familiarity with CPT/diagnosis code application is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more years’ experience in a specialty area with previous revenue cycle experience.

  • Experience working in Epic EHR and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, an aptitude for figures and basic arithmetic, strong attention to detail, be capable of meeting deadlines and working well under pressure.

  • Excels at demonstrating effective communication and customer service skills

  • Possesses some experience in supervising others.

Starting Salary Range: $53,800 - $94,400 Annually ($60,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
