Howden South Africa division is looking for an experienced IR/HR Administrator to be part of the Tutuka AH Recovery Project in order to provide generalist human resource service and maintain a sound labour relations environment and promote a productive workforce in support of achieving the company objectives. This position will be on a fixed term contract of 18 months.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

What needs to be done?

  • Maintain a sound labour relations environment by providing a service to managers and employees in terms of interpreting and giving advice in respect of the implementation of industrial relations policies, procedures and legislation, in order to minimise conflict situations and maximise harmonious relations.

  • Work with the Labour Supplier representative / Employee representative and management in managing good relations as well as conflict between parties and employees

  • Deliver Customer (Business) focused HR Products and Services in line with Howden policies and procedures, as well as being within legislative requirements

  • Assist employees and management with queries and requests (payroll or policy related)

  • Advise management on all matters that involve conflict between employees.

  • Perform general administrative duties for the HR Office which may include Time & Attendance management (Hours worked), filing, compilation of reports, minutes of meetings.

  • Ensure that all staff members are aware of the IR and ER protocols and regulations, and that employees have access to the relevant policies when needed.

  • Assist in the organization and induction of new staff on the code of conduct, HR and IR protocols and operating procedures during orientation

  • Assist with the process of Mobilisation and demobilisation of employees on site and submit reports accordingly

Your Education Should Be…

What do you need to bring?

  • Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources Management.

  • Industrial Relations and HR generalist experience having been responsible for Human Resources delivery aligned to the accountabilities indicated 3-5+years’ experience).

  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office Suite, Teams

  • Excellent communications skills
