The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Research Assistant 3 to work at UHealth Medical campus in Miami, FL.
CORE JOB SUMMARYThe Research Assistant 3 (A) explores innovations to research and strives to improve implementation and family outcomes. The Research Assistant 3 (A) ensures compliance with university policies, rules, and regulations tomeet federal, state, and local standards pertaining to safety and ethics.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS1. Plans and implements research experiments, according to research protocols, to assure high-qualityscientific results in support of applicable project goals.2. Participates in assessing the feasibility of implementing innovations.3. Assesses data trends and develops reports and presentations.4. Supports the initiation of new research by reviewing and synthesizing literature.5. Oversees inventory of supplies and equipment and places orders in a timely fashion.6. Assists in the preparation of scientific papers, reports, and manuscripts.7. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONSEducation:High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:• Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.• Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions
DEPARTMENT SPECIFICS
SCCC Research Lab Specific Duties:
Serve as the liaison with study coordinators to ensure lab kits are prepared and delivered for Miami and all network sites as needed .
Prepare research kits from stock supply for NCI, ETCTN, and other IIS/IITs studies.
Monitor the QC departmental inbox for all changes relating to research kits.
Maintain communication with the Research Lab regarding weekend or late-night sample collections.
Coordinate with our CRLS Couriers for kit, documentation, and sample transport.
Respond to client and sponsor inquiries.
Manage Lab Manuals and update when protocols are modified .
Answer Lab phones and direct calls to minimize interruption of Lab operations.
Assist Lab Director with Lab Personnel training compliance and certification records .
Assist Manager, Research Support - Laboratory with Lab budget development and tracking of expenditures.
Prepares daily delivery confirmation reports and shares confirmation information with study team Point of contact and files report in study file .
Assists in the development and updating of Lab Policy & Procedure .
Coordinates with Phleboto my for daily schedule .
Assists in preparation of leadership reports as needed .
Monitor and maintain research kit inventory weekly.
Removing expired kits from inventory and destroying them per SOP guidelines and providing proper documentation.
Maintain a log of all returned/canceled kits not used for sample collection.
Technical (25%)
Verif y the sample information is consistent with Lab Requisition Form and ensures chain of custody has been followed.
Provide required research sample paperwork to be sent with samples and for uploading to research files.
Participat e in Site Initiation Visits (SIV) as needed with sponsors alongside Manager, Research Support – Laboratory.
Recognize and appl y requirements for all research lab supported protocols and lab manuals.
Report protocol deviations to Lab Supervisor, Lab Director and/or study team as needed.
Able to m anage high volume of workload with accuracy and efficiency .
And other duties as necessary as the department expands.
