The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Project Manager, Research Support to work at the medical campus in Miami, FL.

CORE SUMMARY

The Project Manager, Research Support coordinates and leads efforts in a variety of research activities that are complex and wide in scope. Moreover, the Project Manager, Research Support operates with the goal of ensuring that the collection of data and administration of studies are performed efficiently and in compliance with applicable guidelines.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Aids in the evaluation of problems with workflow, organization, and planning and develops appropriate analytical approaches.

  • Maintains multiple protocol books and chronicles manuscript preparation.

  • Performs analyses of computerized datasets using standard packages to import, update, and manipulate datasets.

  • Presents studies’ results at professional scientific meetings and conferences.

  • Writes manuscripts and journal articles for peer-reviewed medical journals.

  • Ensures that research program objectives are communicated, met, and results are documented.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

Department Specific Functions

Responsibilities:

  • May work with Development Office on Sylvester Leadership point-of-view as it pertains to events related to the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) (i.e.: DCC Heavy Hitters event and dinners) and F1 Miami Grand Prix.

  • Assists with budgeting for the community partnerships and innovation programs and ensures cost-effectiveness.

  • Designs an organizational strategy for community partnerships and the Sylvester Director’s office.

  • Develops and implements innovation programs, and reports on results to Sylvester executive leadership.

  • Works closely with all departments to integrate innovation into all institutes.

  • Stays ahead of trends and developments in innovation and transformation.

  • Provides community partnership event-related support as requested.

  • Manages Art is Medicine and other innovation competitions.

  • Supports executive leadership goals as they relate to philanthropic opportunities.

  • Helps with revenue generation via donor requests (i.e. art donations). With new building opening, position has a very active role with high net-worth tours between development and construction.

  • Arranges and brings in facilities charges from for-profit companies visiting Sylvester and the Director of the cancer center.

  • Hosts high net-worth companies and individuals.

  • Assists with other initiatives as directed.

  • Collaborates with Sylvester leadership and faculty to advance community partnerships.

  • Collaborates with Sylvester’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer to relay community partnerships through Sylvester’s website and social media accounts.

  • Collaborates with Assistant Vice President, Medical Development and Alumni Relations to coordinate community partnership offerings for donors

Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills to help drive forward strategy, achieve buy-in from leadership, and inspire greater well-being across the community.

  • Research, creation and support for the CTO with a customized strategic plan to build and sustain community partnerships and innovation across Sylvester.

  • Effective communication with business leaders, other department managers, and professionals on a regular basis.

  • Ability to develop relationships with a diverse range of people.

  • Planning, strategy and goal setting to successfully develop and roll out programs.

  • Ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and continually track progress.

Additional Preferred Experience:

  • Experience building programs with faculty leaders in academia.

  • Working with donors and philanthropists.

  • Knowledge of current and future trends in the health industry.

  • Familiarity with data and analytics.
