Position Summary:
Provides and oversees specialized training for our employees, as well as our agents, in order to improve the overall performance of the company. Each Manager will focus on assigned content area, and will educate based on University BEST Practices, state regulations, and departmental/company philosophies.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for the identification of the training needs of Auto with heavy emphasis on Material Damage/Appraisal employees and managers, according to the specific area of content assignment. This includes monthly and/or quarterly “sales calls” to Infinity managers across the company, specifically seeking input regarding the training content and frequency.
Responsible for the identification of the training needs of adjusters and appraisers, according to the specific area of content assignment. Working closely with the field and business partners within the company including, but not limited to, monthly and/or quarterly field touchpoints to leaders and adjusters across the Claim organization, specifically seeking input regarding the training content and frequency.
Examines alternative methods of delivering training to increase interest, efficiency and effectiveness.
Examines frequency of training, including student attendance, and determines how often to hold classes within specific content area in order to meet company needs.
Maintains strong knowledge of assigned content area. Increases knowledge via observation and interviewing employees. Must be able to deconstruct the knowledge of Subject Matter Experts and use this information to develop various training methods and materials.
Recommends appropriate solutions for performance enhancements through training and/or changes in workflow/processes.
Focuses on Course Design including multiple media elements including, but not limited to, Internet, Intranet, CD ROM.
Maintains Instructor Certification and all continuing education requirements once certification is earned.
Demonstrates a clear understanding of our “problem-based discovery learning” and “right time trainings” formats.
Obtains and analyzes feedback from classes and makes improvement changes as necessary.
Masters all new procedural and system updates/revisions within content area in order to train others. Ensures that training materials and departmental manuals are developed and maintained.
Responsible for training utilizing multiple delivery channels. Assists in career counseling and development of skill sets for our employees and managers.
Evaluates and recommends outside vendor offerings for training
Assists with recommendations for the annual training budget
Participates in the review of the department’s BEST Practices and reports discrepancies.
Selects and trains employees to staff the unit. Establishes objectives, monitors performance, prepares and conducts performance evaluations and requests increases based on company policy.
Position Qualifications:
8 plus years of progressive, relevant experience preferably in insurance
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year training experience, strong material damage understanding.
Proficiency in training design skills for delivery and training materials.
Excellent communications skills, proven leadership and coaching skills.
High level of time management and organizational/planning skills.
Must exhibit superior delivery and presentation skills with all levels of audiences.
PC knowledge including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Webex and all other software packages used in the assigned Department/area.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated expertise in assigned departmental processing and polices and in technical areas such as claim handling, material damage and/or casualty, new business processing, customer service, etc. Areas of expertise will be identified for each position as opened.
The range for this position is $108,600 to $180,900. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is also eligible for our Kemper benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
This onsite position reports to one of our local Kemper claims offices.
