The University of Miami Health System, "UH ealth", Information Technology Department has an exciting opportunity for a BI Developer with expertise in SQL, ETL processes, dashboard development, and Epic applications. This position will manage data infrastructure, ensure seamless data integration, and create insightful dashboards to drive data-informed decision-making. The role includes supporting business intelligence tools for finance and hospital operations, gathering business requirements, designing new solutions, and providing end-user support.

  • Facilitates design, implementation, integration, and usage of business applications and tools.

  • Leads the design of business process workflows for applications and provides testing and quality assurance expertise on solutions.

  • Manages and augments the development and maintenance of application systems by meeting with users to determine their system requirements.

  • Develops, implements, and oversees project plans and tracks project progress.

  • Develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines.

  • Develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar BI tools.

  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple databases, including Epic Clarity and Caboodle.

  • Support business intelligence tools and applications for finance and hospital operations.

  • Work with clinical and operational teams to understand Epic workflows and data structures to support reporting and analytics needs.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

  • Healthcare productivity experience

  • Knowledge of interdependencies of productivity with accounting transactions, payroll transactions, and financial reporting.

  • Knowledge of productivity for healthcare (productivity targets, best practice for reporting, how business users utilize information)

  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.

  • Ability to gather business requirements and convert these into technical requirements for software configuration.

  • Ability to lead a design/requirement session.

  • Ability to develop stakeholder interview questionnaire as part of requirements gathering.

  • Ability to design a dashboard and/or report from requirements.

  • Ability to utilize report writing tools to create dashboard and/or reports.

  • Ability to document data and process workflows.

  • Ability to develop stories from requirements.

  • Ability to group stories into sprints and layout a corresponding project plan with key tasks/milestones.

  • Ability to manage change requests as well as communication including risk management.

  • Very strong proficiency in SQL coding with skills and experience with Power BI, ETL, Excel for reporting and analysis.

  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to troubleshoot data issues and provide solutions quickly and effectively.
