Your Role

This position is an integral part of the Business Operations team and will be responsible for providing expert telecommunication business management knowledge to the Operations & Engineering team as part of delivering solutions, coordinating and performing life cycle activities and driving effective telecommunications expense management.

Job Responsibilities

Ordering and Provisioning Management 20%

  • Coordinate and actively manage the ordering and provisioning of telecom services for the Enterprise including all moves, adds and changes

  • Track and communicate order status

  • Effectively escalate issues with supplier organizations

Inventory Management 20%

  • Actively manage and track telecom asset inventory

  • Maintain accurate inventory along with historical information about activities and billing

Invoice and Contract Management 20%

  • Performance of auditing and payment functions for supplier telecom invoices in a timely and accurate manner

  • Ensure the recovery of credits and management of short-pay and no-pay decisions

  • Monitor contractual commitments for a number of metrics including availability, billing accuracy, renewal terms, disconnects, termination liabilities, and audits

  • Ensure for proper accounting of expenses

  • Investigate irregularities and determine and bring to successful conclusion corrective actions

Telecom Expense Management 20%

  • Perform industry “best practices” telecommunications expense management for enhancing operational efficiency and identifying opportunities to contain costs

  • Perform periodic audits of telecom service needs and remove excess or inappropriate services

  • Champion savings initiatives

  • Manage small telecom projects

Usage Management 10%

  • Track and audit usage metrics for allocation of costs to individuals, cost centers, departments or other defined spending category

  • Recommend and implement strategies

  • Provide reports as needed

Process Improvement 10%

  • Seek, recommend and implement opportunities for improvement in telecom business processes

Prior Work Experience

  • 3 + years of experience in telecommunications billing, invoicing and analysis

  • 3 + years global telecom experience

  • 3 + years supplier management experience

Desirable Requirements

  • Strong business analysis experience and financial acumen

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to keep up with multiple tasks

  • Ability to work with limited direction

  • Strong communication skills

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in telecom with experience in expense management, project management and supplier management
