Amazon Sr. Instock Manager, Softlines in Mexico City, Mexico
Description
The Amazon Softlines Team is seeking a bright, enthusiastic, and analytically-minded Senior Instock Manager. This role offers a dynamic introduction to our thriving online retail business in Mexico and serves as a training ground for future success in operations and supply chain management.
As the Senior Instock Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the team that works directly with strategic vendors. Your primary responsibilities will be to help improve the vendors' success at Amazon by building and nurturing strong operational partnerships. You will create an engaging experience for our vendor partners by driving timely issue resolution and identifying opportunities to enhance their supply chains. This proactive approach will enable you to identify potential problems before they surface and implement solutions for improvement in categories such as Apparel, Shoes, Luggage, and Watches.
Key areas of focus for this role include:
Driving inventory decisions and leading key supply chain initiatives to maximize sales, margin, and inventory turns for Mexico's fast-growing business.
Developing and executing best practices in managing inventory to ensure optimal availability, efficiency, and product sourcing decisions.
Managing relationships with vendors to maintain a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods.
Forecasting and managing inbound and outbound inventory flows and health, including forecasting, purchasing, and reducing unproductive inventory.
Making recommendations on inventory management strategies and channel management.
Measuring and improving vendor lead times, reducing operational defects, and streamlining operations between vendors and Amazon.
Collaborating with internal teams to drive tools and process improvements that affect purchasing and vendor management workflows, with a focus on automation.
The ideal candidate will possess strong business judgment, instock or operations management experience, a track record of delivering results through cross-functional collaboration, and excellent analytical capabilities, including experience in generating and managing forecasts, reports, and analyses.
A day in the life
The main focus of this role is to drive the inventory strategies and decisions for the Softlines business in Mexico, in order to maximize sales, enhance customer and vendor experience, while improving profitability. Key tasks include:
Improve out of stock by designing Softlines supply chain strategy.
Track defects and opportunities, understand root causes, and address such issues/opportunities.
Collaborate with Vendor Managers to improve Vendors' experience in terms of operations.
Manage unhealthy inventory and create mechanisms to prevent unhealthy inventory.
Design and execute Softlines purchase strategy.

Basic Qualifications
Experience working with complex data sets
5+ years of with Excel experience
Experience communicating results to senior leadership
Bachelor's degree or certificate of completion of studies required plus at least 8+ years of professional background
Fluent in both, English and Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of statistics or other analytical techniques
Experience with SQL
5+ years of supply chain, inventory management, demand planning, consulting in operations and strategy, or project management experience
