Manager, Communications

OVERVIEW

• North Division Latin America Communications is the area in charge of development and execution of communication strategies for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Generating thought leadership and driving Mastercard´s narratives aligned with the business strategy through creative development of editorial content and execution of media and social media strategies.

• The person on this position will be leading Communications for Mexico, managing relationship with communication agency and media, including SOW definition and developing and execution of communication strategies aligned with business priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leads execution of strategies related to external, internal, public affairs and regulatory communications for a country/cluster of countries, or business area

• Leads the creation of communication materials for internal and external audiences (e.g., customers, regulators, merchants, media, employees and sales force) and implements communication activities within own region/country or business area

• Works collaboratively with Worldwide Communications team to implement online communications and work collaboration tools

• Establish tracking tools, measure and analyze data for continuous improvement of internal communications systems and programs

• Ability to determine the right media mix to use in support of planned product/service launches and corporate announcements

• Leads implementation of internal and external communications related to philanthropic programs to increase awareness and drive employee engagement

• Networks with stakeholders (e.g., communication departments of banks, consumer unions, merchants, media partners, community leaders and governments )

• Serves as a trusted counselor on issues related to communications, executive briefings materials and developing messages and communications training

• Leads projects with agencies and consultants to develop communications plans, materials and events, on a day-to-day basis

JOB SPECIFIC EXPERIENCES

• Demonstrated experience and success in delivering and assisting in the development of Communications programs

• Demonstrated success in leveraging knowledge of industry to create differentiated communications content for multiple channels

• Experience supporting senior leaders at high profile business conferences and speaking engagements

• Experience in crisis management, quick thinking and smart risk taking.

ALL ABOUT YOU

• Fluent Business English is a must, perfect Spanish spelling and grammar

• Strong program management and execution capabilities

• Proven experience (4+ years) on public policy, crisis management, marketing, international business, technology.

• Strategic thinking, focus to detail and follow-up, analytic and multi task personality, able to manage several complex projects at a time, with strategic approach and hands-on

• Experience on media relations and BTL program development and management

• Experience in budget management and control and good negotiation skills

• Ability to build relationships with vendors, agencies and strategic partners, working with leadership and close follow up, focused on long term objectives and specific deadlines
