About AbbVie Patient Services Marketing

The AbbVie Patient Services (APS) Marketing Team leads efforts across multiple brands and therapeutic areas to deliver the best possible patient treatment experience and help patients achieve their full treatment plan potential.

AbbVie Patient Services Associate Director – Access and Reimbursement Marketing: reports to the Director, APS A & R Marketing: Immunology. The individual is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Bio Coordinator Education programs as well as coordination and execution of society engagements. To be successful, strong leadership with the ability to collaborate across a complicated matrix is needed.

The A&R marketing associate director possesses an in-depth understanding of access and reimbursement processes at the HCP level. The ideal candidate has strong working knowledge of the payer landscape, buy and bill and specialty pharmacy acquisition models as well as working with field access teams.

While the role does not have direct reports, the position requires the ability to influence and lead cross-functionally to successfully drive business outcomes. The candidate must be able to operate in a demanding environment with lofty expectations and maintain a customer-centric focus that drives the achievement of quality deliverables and innovation.

Key Responsibilities Include (may shift based on business needs):

  • Leads the strategy, development, and execution of non-clinical, access focused customer education programs for the APS Immunology portfolio. To include

  • Annual operating plan development and management

  • Speaker training

  • Educational program content development

  • Non-Clinical speaker engagement: minimum of two touch points annually to engage, observe and evaluate speaker performance.

  • Provide oversight of agency relationships

  • Develop innovative and impactful initiatives and tactics that align to the Patient Services strategic imperatives and APS Marketing priorities.

  • Stay up to date on critical market disruptors and evaluate their impact to customer education program content.

  • Leads the deliverables associated with nonclinical society engagement.

  • Convention support and execution.

  • Responsible for management of the budget associated with assigned work stream.

  • Work with AbbVie Digital Lab, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, OEC, Business and Technology Solutions to ensure comprehensive governance process upon roll-out of any initiative.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Ability to elevate creative excellence and energize APS marketing to drive consistency in all marketing assets and channels.

  • The ability to understand, analyze, synthesize complex business, access challenges, and translate them into impactful programs that address the business need.

  • Think “outside-of-the-box” attitude and ability to demonstrate agility.

  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships across stakeholders at all levels throughout the organization.

  • Strong working knowledge in the following areas:

  • Drug Acquisition channels

  • Medical and pharmacy benefit design

  • Benefit Verification and Prior Authorization processes.

  • Claim submission and denial management.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree and previous marketing experience required.

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, with the ideal candidate having previous Pharma peer to peer program management experience with medical and pharmacy benefit products.

  • Strong background in HCP service and retention strategies

  • Proficient planning and organization skills, attention to detail, execution, agility, and follow-through

  • Ability to manage and lead without authority, various external and internal partnerships, including agencies and production vendors.

  • Excellent communication (oral, written, and presentation) and people skills.

  • Experience developing marketing plans and programs.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​

Salary: $133,500 - $253,500
