Project Overview:

The Bechtel renewables team will perform project management, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup for the Escape Solar Project. Escape Solar is a 185MWac / 226.5MWdc utility-scale PV solar project, located Lincoln County, NV. The owner has the necessary approvals and commercial arrangements in place for an initial build of 70MWac (Block 1) followed by the remaining 115 MWac. (Block 2).

Job Summary:

The Electrical Superintendent - Modules is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the applicable discipline. Supervises and directs craft professionals, craft professional supervisors and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and contractors' performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Reports to Project Site Superintendent for daily scheduled work priorities, coordinating with other disciplines and assigned specific tasks.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and organizes subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff within the area of responsibility.

  • Role supports on mid-size projects of medium to high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.

Planning

  • Monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.

  • Reviews subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.

  • Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.

Safety / Quality

  • Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements

  • Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.

Technical

  • Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents

  • Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.

  • Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be physically capable to conduct field inspections and participate in project walkdowns which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, walking on uneven surfaces, and lifting up to 40 lbs.

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of EPC and EPCM construction programs, technologies, means and methods.

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of supervisory functions relating to construction field activities.

  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) and commitment to a Zero Accident safety program
