Job Summary:This position is responsible for performing the basic entry level tasks in each of the four production departments. Partners will function as production helpers throughout the Bakery and will be utilized where needed on a day to day basis. After the 90 introductory period full time partners will continue training as a production helpers or may apply for an open position in one of the four departments. These tasks are as follows:

Mix Department

pre-scaling,

soaking,

finalizing

Makeup Department

Properly enrobing and panning of dough

Loading oven racks, rack checking and loading proof boxes,

Learn pan types, bread and toppings varieties,

Stage pans, oven racks and toppings as necessary,

Working in the dish pit.

Ovens Department

Running the depanner,

Cycling ovens loading & unloading.

Wrap Department

Catching-traying product in plastic trays, black racks and corrugate boxes & trays.

Loading and unloading trucks and trailers.

These positions are an essential part of our operation. All personnel are required to not deviate from the firmly established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Partners will be trained in our GMP, Food Safety and Personnel Safety policies and practices that ensure the safety of our partners, consumers and a quality end product.

Once partners learn the entry level requirements listed above they will continue to be trained in additional tasks in each production departments as time allows. Cross departmental training is a vital part of the Alpine culture.

Essential Functions:

Keep up with the flow of production and timelines given in bake schedules.

Follow instructions, respond positively to training, coaching and execute all applicable Standard Operating Procedures accurately.

Be flexible and maintain confidence when changes arise.

Work successfully with a team.

Learn and perform sanitation tasks during scheduled down time.

Ability to operate machines in a safe manner.

Ability to maintain attention to detail while working in a fast paced environment.

Ability to learn and apply company standards including, but not limited to, lock-out/tag-out, safety practices, GMP\'s, SOPs, employee handbook, etc.

Ability to follow quality standards and ensure those standards are met.

Ability to perform basic math calculations (add & subtract), read instructions, keep records and deal effectively with fellow coworkers in all departments.

Ability to understand machine functions and troubleshoot operations as needed.

Must be capable of understanding work instructions both verbal and written.

Requires ability to maintain focus on task at hand and not be easily distracted.

Working Conditions/Physical Factors:

Workers exposed to temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. More extreme temperatures possible during summer months.

Worker exposed to hazards in the work place such as close proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat, moving parts, and electrical current.

Must be able to keep a positive attitude and high level of motivation in order to ensure the highest quality of bread all the time.

Must be flexible and willing to work any shift, time, day or holiday.

Must be able to work in environment containing flour dust, wheat, milk and nuts (allergens)

Must be able to exert force or lift up to 50 pounds constantly, must be able to constantly exert force sufficient to move objects such as tables, stairs mixing bowls. Etc.

Must be able to push or pull 350 lbs. (fully loaded oven bread rack)

Must be able to ascend and descend stairways, ladders and ramps.

Must be able to stand for a long period of time, climb, reach, walk, lift, grasp, feel, bend and twist.

Must be able to maintain a quick and stea y pace throughout an 8 hour shift.

Must have the ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and accurately.
