Yulista Aircraft Painter III JR105423 in Meridianville, Alabama

PRIMARY FUNCTION The Aircraft Painter is responsible for ensuring that aircraft and its components are ready for painting and or other maintenance/repair.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform surface preparation by chemical de-painting, mechanical de-painting, cleaning, buffing, sanding, blasting, and treating of aircraft surfaces and aircraft parts. This includes paint removal, surface preparation, and surface treatment, blasting, and sanding on a variety of aircraft or aircraft components. Use proper painting techniques, mixing ratios, correct paint viscosity, identification of improper and/or unacceptable finish application. Inspect masking to protect vital areas; inspect coatings and metal substrates for possible corrosion in compliance with acceptable standards, specifications, and procedural requirements. Operate all abrasive and non-abrasive blasting equipment such as glass media, plastic media and water cleaning equipment. Read and interpret engineering paint drawings, technical manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Ability to enter data accurately into databases. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Must possess effective communication skills to clearly communicate information to others. Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management. o Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista. o Ability to perform basic mathematical computations o High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently o Ability to multi-task

QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of documented experience in aircraft painting Must be able to obtain half, and full-face respirator certification. Must be able to interact, and perform on the job training to lesser qualified painters. Must be capable of performing tasks that frequently require lifting, reaching, bending, walking, pulling, sitting, standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and stretching for prolonged periods of time. Must be capable of performing tasks in cramped, awkward, and strained positions and/or climbing up and down ladders, work platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures. Must be capable of carrying items up to 40 pounds and on heavier items must seek assistance of other workers or weight lifting devices. Must be capable of wearing cumbersome PPE for Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) operations Must be citizen or permanent residents of the United States Must be familiar with test coupons and Adhesion Test. Blend and mix a variety of MIL-Spec paints, inks, and coatings to proper spraying viscosity, and apply IAW technical manuals, drawings, or maintenance work orders. (CARC coatings, Epoxys, Polyurethan Enamels) V-22 Osprey, H-60, AH-64, CH-47 experience a plus. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
