This is a Job Description for a CNO -- Ochsner Rush in Meridian, Mississippi.

Summary: This job oversees the strategic vision, long term planning, direction and overall accountability for patient care services; communicates and interprets organizational and departmental missions, goals, and objectives for all areas of responsibility; and provides leadership and direction in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities. Directs personnel in order to provide service to all customers including patient advocacy, while ensuring mechanisms for quality safety and compliance. Ensures staff competency, serves as a mentor, and offers guidance to their nursing leadership team. Plans and controls the physical environment, materials, equipment and supplies to provide competitive cost effective care to patients. Coordinates with executive administration and other interdisciplinary groups on policy formation, performance improvement, information systems and risk management. Participates in and represents the hospital at community and professional activities to enhance customer service. Ensures professional development and training for nurses and ancillary staff at all levels of clinical employment. Adheres to evidenced based practice. Duties and Responsibilities: Ensures quality of care and patient satisfaction measured by division performance reviews, accreditation and regulatory compliance, and patient advocacy scores. Builds an engaged workforce through leadership, talent development and collaborative employee relationships. Oversees research, education, and training to support cutting edge patient care and services. Ensures operational profitability with sound financial performance. Develops and achieves long-term strategic business plans through effective relationship building, communication, planning, and fundraising. Oversees the physical and technological infrastructure and develops organizational structures, programs, and processes. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements and Qualifications: Required -- Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business administration or other health related field. Required -- 5 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting, including 3 years of successfully managing complex hospital and patient care delivery. Experience in areas of responsibility. Required --  Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
