Actalent Structural Engineering Technician in Mequon, Wisconsin
Key Responsibilities: Pre-casting Structural Drafter
Develop and manage 3D models: Create and maintain detailed architectural and structural BIM models throughout the project lifecycle using Revit and other BIM software.
Collaborate with project teams: Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure models are accurate and compliant with industry standards.
Generate detailed drawings: Produce detailed drawings and plans from BIM models to support construction and design processes.
Conduct clash detection: Identify and resolve conflicts within the BIM models to ensure seamless integration of various building systems.
Maintain project documentation: Keep all project documentation up-to-date to reflect the current status and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Provide technical support: Assist in troubleshooting and providing technical support related to BIM software.
Typical Duties:
Creating and revising drawings: Use Revit and other 3D modeling tools to create and revise drawings and documentation.
Participating in meetings: Collaborate with the project team to discuss and resolve matters related to model accuracy and project requirements.
Creating visualizations: Develop visualizations of future buildings for client approvals and regulatory bodies.
Working with various materials: Design and model projects involving concrete, metal, and wood, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with relevant standards.
Education and Certification Requirements:
Educational background : An associate’s degree or technical degree in a relevant field such as computer-aided design (CAD), engineering, or architecture.
Proficiency in BIM software: Strong skills in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
Understanding of construction processes: Knowledge of building codes, drafting techniques, and construction processes.
Certifications: Certifications from recognized providers like Autodesk can enhance professional credibility and job prospects.
