Job Description
The Team Leader is responsible for facilitating a production team including scheduling, distribution of tasks, resources, and communication of production targets. Team Leader will provide leadership and direction that will promote safe work practices and improve quality and productivity.
Shift: (M-Th) 5:50pm-6:00am - CF4
Starting hiring rate: $27.80/hr plus $2/hr shift differential
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Activities and duties may vary depending upon site specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
Work on the production line whenever unexpected absenteeism occurs, or when needed to meet Customer needs.
Tracks and provides feedback to the Manager on Team Member’s performance, and participates in Team Member Performance Review meetings.
Coordinate the production activities of the Production Team Members on your shift.
Promote and facilitate the personal development of Team members by identifying the need for training and provide training.
Make certain that all employees are following the Standard Operating Procedures and training instructions.
Lead the efforts to identify the root cause and put preventative actions in place for quality and safety related issues.
Work closely with other Production Team Members and managers to provide consistent expectations and drive continuous improvement.
Support the 5-S, housekeeping, ELS projects and recycling prog-rams.
Collaborate with other functional areas to resolve problems and develop improved manufacturing processes.
Reduce manufacturing waste and process complexity.
Assign personnel responsibilities and ensure teamwork among everyone on the shift to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime on production equipment.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Have general knowledge and able to work with computers and programs (Excel, Word, MFG PRO).
Willingness to act as an additional manufacturing resource by taking a hands-on approach to day-to-day production activities.
Must regard safety as a core value; must serve as role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures.
Must be able to actively contribute in a team based environment, encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal.
Must have a strong service and quality focus, be able to address issues effectively when problems arise, and take initiative to understand root cause then communicate/educate team in a timely manner.
Must have demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus.
Must have a strong detail orientation and be able to follow written and oral instruction.
Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Requirements
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing in a similar production environment.
Track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Project Management and Time Management skills.
Track record of implementing Lean manufacturing processes.
