UW - STOUT Lecturer, Drawing and Design Theory in MENOMONIE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21259 JOB TITLE: Lecturer, Constructed Perspective Drawing and Design Theory and Methods JOB DETAILS: The School of Art & Design at the University of Wisconsin-Stout invites applications for a Lecturer position in Constructed Perspective Drawing and Design Theory and Methods, commencing August 2025. This is a 9-month instructional academic staff position with intent to renew. The successful candidate will bring their expertise to teaching undergraduate studio courses: DES-205 Design Drawing and Concept Visualization, a perspective-heavy course in one- and two-point perspective as well as industry-focused design sketching and DES-200 Design Theory and Methods, a study and application of processes, techniques and concepts used by designers to arrive at innovative and successful design solutions. This position will support and facilitate student learning in alignment with UW-Stout\'s polytechnic tenets of applied learning and research, business and industry partnerships, career-focused education. These courses serve second-year students in various BFA degree programs including Interior Design, Industrial and Product Design, and Game Design and Development - Art. This is a full-time teaching role. Office space, a laptop computer, class resources and mentorship from area faculty will be provided. UW-Stout\'s School of Art & Design is NASAD (National Association of Schools of Art and Design) accredited. Course delivery is in-person and in accordance with NASAD standards. APPOINTMENT START DATE: 8/18/2025 RESPONSIBILITIES Teach full-time each semester on topics related to design drawing and design theory and methods. Provide student academic advisement and conduct assessment of student learning. This includes contributing to academic program assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement processes, in collaboration with faculty and staff. Demonstrate organizational skills and collegiality. Collaborate with other faculty to maintain / develop course curricula. Foster a rigorous and inclusive learning environment. Schedule, maintain office hours and/or online availability for students, in alignment with departmental expectations; including assessment of student learning. Provide grades following the process/timeline established by the registrar. Participate in the university online learning environment, which includes the learning management system.
