Kohl's Customs Compliance Analyst (On-Site) in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin
About the Role
As a Customs Compliance Analyst, you will ensure compliance with US Customs and Other Government Agency regulations, administer high-profile programs to maintain trusted trade partner status with US Customs, drive improvements in supply chain efficiencies and achieve cost savings for imported goods.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure the accuracy and completeness of entries, facilitating their timely release by Customs
Evaluate, monitor, review and report on eligibility for Free Trade Agreements, FSFE (First Sale for Export) and IER programs
Utilize the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) to efficiently distribute and manage trade-related information
Maintain programs, including internal reporting, auditing, applying Harmonized Tariff Codes (HTS) and reporting import data to management
Scrutinize entry documents to ensure accurate valuation, including qualification for First Sale Valuation
Verify product information to ensure compliance with Other Government Agency (OGA) and Partner Government Agency (PGA) classifications, documentation and reporting requirements
Submit necessary entry corrections in partnership with Customs Brokers
Responsively address requests for information from US Customs (CF 28/29)
Determine accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification and duty rates for directly imported goods
Prepare and submit request letters for Binding Rulings to the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
Maintain a comprehensive record of product classification history and relevant data
Serve as the primary contact for research in the Customs Rulings Online Search System (CROSS)
Provide assistance in maintaining Customs Compliance program(s)
Update the Customs Compliance Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures
Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and conduct audits on imports and other relevant areas for the Customs Compliance Department.
Review and approve billing for Duty Mitigation.
Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for quarterly review
Educate internal and external business partners on processes, classification, documentation requirements and duty engineering opportunities
Participate in creating and delivering Customs Compliance training

What Skills You Have
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Customs Broker License
CCS (Certified Customs Specialist)
Thorough knowledge of merchandise classification guidelines as per US Customs regulations and the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
Familiarity with the responsibilities of a Customs Broker
Proficiency in Windows software, Google Workspace and internal mainframe systems
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
