Summary:

Meta is seeking a forward thinking, experienced candidate to join the Foundation Labs team as an Automation Engineer. The Automation Engineer sets the framework for processes enabling work on hardware within our labs, and then delivers automation for scale. This requires labs that are fully remote and seamlessly accessible across multiple geographical regions along with offering standardized capabilities enabling the end users (engineers) to focus on platform development and thereby also attempting to reduce the time from engineering lab to Data Center labs through production. The Automation Engineer is a critical role in continuing to accelerate hardware development at Meta. We move fast and are looking for a person who will find the most effective and efficient ways to solve complex problems within varied, small to hyper-scale environments.

Required Skills:

Production Systems Engineer, Foundation Labs Responsibilities:

1. Build the test tools and automation frameworks to optimize development, integration, deployment and lifecycle management of hardware Systems in Meta Labs and Data Centers

2. Constantly work to improve throughput and reliability of our continuous test systems and processes

3. Provide the framework to users who require access to various systems within labs, through remote managed access

4. Ensure availability of hardware and software within labs for end users, through automated tools

5. Drive scalability and reliability of labs tools, enabling operational success of core functions through automation

6. Enable initial functionality of tools required for systems provisioning within engineering and production environments

Minimum Qualifications:

7. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

8. 4+ years of experience as Software Systems Professional

9. Proficient in object oriented programming (Python or C++)

10. Experienced working in Linux Systems Environments

11. In depth troubleshooting and analytical experience

12. Experienced in developing tools and services for automation

13. Experienced with leading-edge technologies and micro services like Docker

14. Experienced with Javascript, PHP and Hack

15. Experienced with REST, GraphQL and MySql

16. Experienced with Jenkins or similar automation framework

17. Familiar with configuration management systems like Chef

18. Familiar with Storage, Compute, Network Hardware Design, and Development

19. Experience in data center production support at scale

Public Compensation:

$163,000/year to $225,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
