Meta Partner Engineer, Reality Labs in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

Partner Engineering is a highly technical team that works with prominent Meta partners on bringing their apps, services and integrations onto Meta platforms, devices and apps. The Partner Engineer, RL role will focus on helping these important and strategic partners ship/integrate their apps and services on Meta AR/VR Devices (including but not limited to Meta Quest headsets and RayBan Meta Glasses) and Meta Reality Labs platforms. External facing work in this role will involve engaging with such partners to onboard their apps on the Meta AR/VR Devices as well as building and shipping specific apps/integrations using the Meta AR/VR Devices, the goal being to make sure they are functional and compliant as per our standards). Internally this role will require working closely with various cross functional teams to be a subject matter expert on the current architecture(s), deeply understand requirements/nuances/upcoming changes, writing and maintaining proper code/documentation and creating and following effective processes for partner engagement. An ideal candidate will bring to the table a solid set of technical skills in the AR/VR space, android and proven ability to work with external partners.

Required Skills:

Partner Engineer, Reality Labs Responsibilities:

  1. Help partners integrate their apps/services on to Meta family of AR/VR devices including but not limited to Meta Quest headsets and RayBan Meta Glasses.

  2. Use broad range of technical and soft skills to build productive relationships with our partners, and resolve technical and business needs

  3. Work closely with partner technical teams to identify issues with their apps and recommend possible solutions.

  4. Develop a practical understanding of the various META devices, RL platforms/APIs and underlying implementations used for shipping apps and services.

  5. Identify and highlight missing functionality in our features, apis or services and work closely with product and engineering teams to prioritize, build and verify them on the devices/platforms.

  6. Be a subject matter technical expert, and have strategic influence on external partners and internal teams at Meta.

  7. Work closely with internal teams at Meta to ensure the right features are built to address partner needs.

  8. Ensure great documentation and best practices are created to collaborate with partners.

  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to design and build apps/integrations/prototypes on Meta devices to showcase current/new/unreleased features and use cases.

  10. Document and share learning within the team upon completion of projects

  11. Willingness to travel for partner meetings and engagements about 5-10% of the time

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  2. 3+ years of relevant industry experience - software engineering, partner or sales engineering.

  3. Knowledge of Android development and using various SDKs, Frameworks and libraries

  4. Experience integrating with any device-level services such as assistants, SDKs, casting, etc.

  5. Software development experience in languages and environments such as Java, NDK(C++) and/or PHP.

  6. Familiarity with the AR/VR product development lifecycle (Unity/Unreal/WebXR etc.)

  7. Experience to taking on complex and ambiguous technical problems

  1. Demonstrated experience in communication, analytical, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

  2. AR/VR enthusiast and knowledge on latest hardware, news, development SDKs and trends in this space

  3. In-depth understanding of developing AR/VR apps/experiences on any of the available devices such as virtual reality or mixed reality headsets and/or glasses

Public Compensation:

$173,000/year to $247,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
