Meta Hardware Engineer (Accelerator Design) in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

Meta is seeking a versatile Hardware Engineer to join our Accelerator Design team. Our mission is backed by a massive hardware infrastructure. Our challenges in designing custom accelerator modules for AI are big, complex, and consistently evolving. Required Skills:

Hardware Engineer (Accelerator Design) Responsibilities:

  1. Specify, design, and develop hardware and platform solutions with leading-edge ASICs, for use with our custom AI accelerators.

  2. Design and Validate leading edge modules for Meta's AI accelerator silicon.

  3. Lead the bring-up, validation, and launch of module and ASIC hardware.

  4. Support hyper-scale deployment and obtain learning for next generation design.

  5. Collaborate with open source hardware community to drive innovation for large scale infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  2. 7+ years of experience with PCB design with both integrated and discrete circuits, and high-speed interfaces.

  3. 5+ years of experience with development and bring-up of high-performance custom systems or complex consumer devices.

  4. 6+ years of experience leveraging hardware architecture and design expertise for analyzing and resolving system hardware issues.

  5. 4+ years of expertise designing hardware platforms for ASIC or similar accelerator specific components.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. M.S. in electrical engineering or computer engineering.

  2. 8+ years of experience with owning and delivering a custom ASIC PCB as a technical lead, or leading contributor, with other cross-functional teams in engineering, program, and operation.

  3. 6+ years of experience with end-to-end enabling, designing, and deployment cycle engineering for multiple generations of products.

  4. 7+ years of experience with design and troubleshoot interfaces used in AI hardware such as I2C, PCIe, DDR, high-speed SerDes.

  5. 7+ years of experience with industry standard EDA tools for developing and reviewing PCB designs.

  6. 7+ years of experience with using high-speed scope, logic analyzer, and other validation methods in validating and troubleshoot hardware.

  7. Familiar with module and system architectures of industry AI accelerators.

  8. Knowledge of using Linux for hardware validation and troubleshooting.

  9. Direct experience with industry-leading design practices and technologies for high-power, high-speed PCBs

  10. Delivery of production-level PCBs for HPC, AI, or other demanding workloads

Public Compensation:

$170,000/year to $240,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
