We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an Accounting and Treasury Supervisor in Menlo Park, California. This role primarily involves overseeing the day-to-day functions of our treasury operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and supervising the accounting staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the process of wire transfers and administer the Workday Banking Module

• Oversee the maintenance of accurate financial records, including department spending, KPIs, and cash flow forecasts

• Coordinate activities related to month-end and year-end close, such as review of journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial data for both internal and external reporting

• Ensure timely completion of monthly account reconciliations, with any reconciling items researched and resolved promptly

• Assist in the development and implementation of treasury policies and procedures

• Regularly utilize the ERP system for various tasks

• Oversee compliance with monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory requirements such as sale tax payments

• Ensure the safeguarding of assets through effective processes and procedures

• Provide monthly variance analysis and ad hoc reporting as required

• Prepare financial statement footnotes and disclosures in compliance with US-GAAP

• Manage and mentor general accounting staff, focusing on individual and group success

• Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, procedures, and policies for the group and the company

• Work closely with Operations groups regarding various financial transaction activities

• Assist in annual audit activities.

Requirements • Proven experience in Treasury management, demonstrating a solid understanding of cash management principles and procedures.

• Proficiency in Cash Reconciliations, with the ability to accurately maintain and manage cash flow statements.

• Significant experience in Month End Close procedures, ensuring all accounting tasks are completed accurately and within set deadlines.

• Familiarity with Workday ERP system, with the ability to utilise its features for efficient financial management.

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and solve complex problems.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a capacity to supervise and motivate a team.

• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations is essential.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

• Proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
