Description
The Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT systems. This role involves a wide range of tasks, including system design, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and systems engineering principles.
Responsibilities:
Design and architect complex IT systems, including servers, storage, and networking infrastructure
Develop system requirements and specifications
Create system diagrams and documentation
Install, configure, and deploy IT systems and applications
Configure system settings and parameters to optimize performance and security
Implement system updates and patches
Monitor system performance and identify potential issues
Troubleshoot system problems and implement solutions
Analyze system logs to identify root causes of issues
Implement security measures to protect IT systems from threats
Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments
Stay up-to-date on the latest security best practices
Automate system tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
Develop scripts and automation tools
Collaborate with other IT teams, such as network engineers, database administrators, and developers
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
3+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, storage, networking)
Experience with server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux)
Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash)
Understanding of system security best practices
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., MCSA, CCNA)
Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure)
Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
