The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospital in the United States. We are located on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors.   Qualifications

  The Mental Health Technician creates a safe environment for patients, saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers patients, and teaches new tools for coping to patients . The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education groups and activities of daily living.

  Job Requirements

  Education : High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology preferred.

  Experience : One year related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness preferred.

  Knowledge: Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management and crisis management with aggressive behaviors preferred.
