Maintenance Manager

Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000

Job Description

Lead and oversee factory maintenance operations within a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Ensure safe and efficient maintenance, repair, and replacement of plant equipment to optimize production quality and output while aligning with company policies and goals.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Scheduling

  • Manage work orders, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and coordinate the necessary work.

  • Evaluate material and manpower requirements for safe, efficient task execution.

  • Assign maintenance and repair tasks to team members based on skills and site priorities.

  • Assist with spare parts inventory management, procurement, and invoicing.

  • Facilitate communication across departments to streamline maintenance and repair activities.

Technical Support

  • Provide troubleshooting, diagnostics, and analytical support as needed.

  • Ensure safe and effective operation of equipment.

  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues to reduce downtime.

  • Identify and propose improvement initiatives for plant efficiency.

Asset Utilization and Troubleshooting

  • Monitor plant equipment performance to minimize downtime, proactively address issues, and identify improvement areas.

  • Drive proposed solutions through the approval, installation, and review processes.

  • Plan and implement capital projects as required.

  • Develop and implement best practice maintenance procedures.

  • Establish and manage a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, inventory, and maintenance records.

  • Lead projects that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Track and improve key maintenance metrics, such as asset utilization and schedule compliance.

Asset Management and Maintenance

  • Oversee maintenance programs that maximize equipment availability and performance without disrupting production.

  • Ensure all critical equipment documentation is complete and current.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for underperforming equipment and implement corrective measures.

  • Demonstrate continuous improvements in equipment throughput, availability, and downtime.

  • Control maintenance costs within budget and procure parts and services at optimal quality and price.

  • Implement maintenance processes to maximize asset performance, including PM schedules, corrective orders, and failure analyses.

Human Resource Management

  • Adhere to HR policies, procedures, and relevant employment laws.

  • Manage employee schedules, attendance, evaluations, and pay reviews.

  • Develop the skills of the maintenance team through training.

  • Enforce the safety program, reviewing safety records to maintain a safe working environment for all maintenance staff.

Health and Safety

  • Uphold standards for quality and food safety.

  • Ensure maintenance personnel work safely, with proper equipment and in a secure environment.

  • Complete necessary safety documentation and encourage safe practices.

Environmental Responsibility

  • Minimize waste and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

  • Adhere to ISO 9001/22000, HACCP, and GMP standards and continue improving maintenance procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering preferred.

  • 5-7 years of experience in production or maintenance within a manufacturing setting.

  • Proficiency in asset care programs, including autonomous maintenance.

  • Familiarity with GMP and experience in project management and continuous improvement programs.

  • Experience in automation projects and operating in a 24/7 processing environment.
